Asshole! (Card Game)
November 23rd, 2007 AlisonI won a game of asshole.. my friend Liz lost..
I wasn’t sure what a rebus was, so I drew what I thought it was, based on the word “re-bus” (which turned out to kind of be a rebus anyway..)
A friend and I were being taken to the Keg Mansion on Jarvis for dinner one night, and since it’s supposed to be haunted, we were hoping to see a ghost. I drew a picture of what the encounter might be like, but we’ll never know, because we didn’t see a ghost.
A guy at my old work tried to tell me that Kamloops is really Kamploops (and he wasn’t pulling my leg.. that’s what he thought it was)
This is probably my most popular drawing. And although Crossing The Line is the first one I did, this one was the first one I did in my now-regular style.
Here’s the story: This girl, Vanessa, that I used to work with was eating a banana. Then all of a sudden half of it broke off and just fell onto the table. I just thought it looked so sad and was all like “I’m a banana
“, so I drew this. I think it captured the moment perfectly.
This was the first ever drawing I did in Paint. Okay, well probably not the first one ever in my entire life, but it was the first as far as I’m concerned. It’s pretty self explanatory. It was before I had my rules: No type tool, no line/circle/box tools. Pretty well only paintbrush and spray can.
I like to use MS Paint to draw certain situations in life, as well as some things requested by friends. I have a bunch of them just sitting on my computer (or on Flickr or Facebook), so I’ve decided that instead of this blog just sitting idle, I’m going to start putting them up on here!
I haven’t had time to make new ones in a long time, so for now I’m just going to post old ones, in no particular order. If/when I make new ones, I’ll put them up too!
To start: I’m intercontinental when I eat French toast. (a la Beastie Boys, The Move). I used to always have my MSN pictures coincide with my name/tag line.

Just before 9 tonight, I double checked that Dirty Sexy Money was still on CTV at 10pm this evening, like it has been since the premier.
Turns out it was on at 7 and I missed it. I can’t even figure out why – I know baseball is doing its best to ruin TV right now, but baseball doesn’t air on CTV, and I’m pretty sure that Dirty Sexy Money isn’t actually simulcast with its US counterpart (for some reason they decided to air their programming on different nights than the US).
Not only does this happen with baseball (and probably other sporting events), but also American Idol loves to take over TV – it seems to be on 2-3 night a week for 1-2 hours each night. In the States, it would just wreck Fox‘s schedule, but up here it wrecks our two most popular major networks. This is due to the fact that 99% of Global‘s programming simulcasts with Fox, so Global is forced to run reruns because American Idol takes over and the new ones aren’t licensed up here without them running on Fox too. Then American Idol runs on CTV – both are pretty much shut down (unless you love American Idol, which apparently everyone does aside from me). This gets people out of the habit of sitting down to watch the programs on the odd occasion that they do play in their “regular” time slots.
As someone who works in the ad industry, I know how worried everyone is about PVRs and downloading – people will zap through the ads (or not even have to worry about them at all if it’s downloaded). That means lower ratings on the part of the stations, and that’s bad news for everyone else involved. Less people watching means less exposure means less awareness/sales.
But really, you make it so hard for me to watch the few programs that I make a point of watching every week – you’re punishing your loyal viewers!
Now excuse me while I go download Dirty Sexy Money and watch it – ad-free.
